» Slam book- My crush » Posted by boopathi
“Live your life fully in the school”, this is the most repeatedly chanted statement by my teacher in school days. But I never realized the importance of this statement. Now I regret it.
There are so many means (photos, videos, letter and more) by which you can recollect all sweet memories of your school days. Among these, slam book plays a vital role in driving those memories and through this post I am going to relish my first slam book experience.
Slam book, is a notebook with full of questions which will be circulated among your friends to fill in their own answers to those questions. This book is the remembrance of your old buddies and you can post any kind of questions to them. After a long time, if you happened to read those slam posts, it will definitely bring cute smile on your face.
Let me go back to my school days. Before my final exam, one of my friends circulated her slam book to us and asked to fill it before end of the day. Everyone started filling one by one and I was eagerly waiting for my turn. My turn came and I was casually looking at the questions that were put forth before me. I was stuck by a question and I really didn’t have a clue to answer it. The question is “Who do you have a crush on”?
I was frantically thinking how to answer. Cold war started between my mind and heart. Both knew that was her. But my mind stopped me to reveal the truth. The confusion in my mind was palpable and eventually my mind won the battle. I wrote as “None” with heavy heart. It happened again in high school and I blindly did the same.
Suddenly I have been reminiscing about my school life and now felt like moron. Through this post, I am revealing this to both of them. I had crush on you.
I won’t repeat the same, if I get the chance again to pen down the slam book of others. Have you experienced the same in your life? How did you manage this tricky question?

PH is a non-profit charitable organization formed by group of youngsters intended to help the needy. Back 2010, this idea was ignited while celebrating one of our friend’s birthday in an orphanage. Since then we are visiting homes regularly and helping them financially to our best.
How we operate?
We will find homes (Chennai mostly) and get the requirements from the head of homes. PH has handful of altruistic youngsters who donate part of their monthly salary and their Sodexho passes regularly for this activity. We use that money and Sodexho passes to meet the requirements of the homes. We have also made some effective contribution for education of kids. Apart from this we used to organize some fun games for children in homes, take them out for movies, beach and other places for entertainment. We are doing this activity on a monthly basis and successfully executing it with utmost transparency.
How you can help us?
- Inform us about homes or talented children that need any sort of help. We try to help them to our best in time
- You can also join us and help financially, organize games, celebrate your birthday and other functions, share your knowledge and experience with kids
- And most importantly spread the word about our organization with your friends and relatives

Your small help can make big difference in a kid’s life. Check out this link to know more about this organization and for regular updates.
» SETC Ultra Deluxe- A real review » Posted by boopathi
I am a regular customer to SETC, travelling back and forth between Chennai and Bangalore. It’s been almost two years since I moved to Bangalore for work and not even a single time I experienced a smooth travel in SETC. The reason why i beckoned to this service is because of its availability and moderate ticket fare when compared to other travels. I can go for KSRTC which is of same rate, but one should book the ticket prior to 10 days in order to travel. So in this post, I can give you few tips to make yourself charged up to face the possible situations while travelling in our own SETC. So, here we go
- Let me start with the reservation scene. Surprisingly, TN government yet to introduce online reservation to use SETC service. So, you should go to anyone of the SETC booth and get the reservation form (1 Rs). Like old style, fill up the particulars and give it to very well trained computer operator. One need patience here, as they are aced in typing and handling the mouse. Then it is very important to check the date of journey (don’t miss the month) in tickets before keeping it in your pocket.
- Now I will list few things which you need to have before boarding your respective bus.
- Bed bugs spray (one full bottle)
- I guarantee you that all the buses have bed bugs. Every time when I travel, I experienced bloody bite. I really pity all the babes and aunties performing abhinayam as the bugs were all over their body. So bed bug spray is must to extricate yourself from nasty bites. My room is full of bed bugs (extremely speed in reproduction) and I am running out of way to get rid of these from my room. Please advise me if you have one.
- Rain coat (during rainy season)
- Jerkin/ sweater (during winter season)
- Windows won’t have bushes to close/open in many buses, stuck in middle and interestingly few buses won’t have one. So it is very helpful if you carry rain coat / umbrella during rainy season. And same goes for jerkin and sweater during winter season.
- Have 500Rs (minimum) cash in hand
- Break down, puncture and gear lever problem are very common to SETC buses. So you can expect these things to happen at any time of your travel. So if it happens to you, you should wait for another SETC bus to reach your destination. You can’t board TNSTC buses (different service but belongs to TN government) with your SETC ticket. If you want to travel in TNSTC, then get a new ticket. So always travel with 500Rs for safer side.
- SETC Ultra Deluxe bus won’t go beyond 50 KMPH. So plan your travel accordingly.
- SETC Ultra Deluxe Video coach has TV box but not TV to play songs or movies.
- SETC Ultra Deluxe has fan in each row but it won’t work even if you try with your finger.
- SETC Ultra Deluxe conductors are very kind and supportive. They will never ever address your complaint and in turn they will shout back at you. Many frown upon conductor’s action, wondering whether he is owner of the vehicle.
The above cited points ain’t exaggeration or not trying to sully their reputation. I experienced it all and many will agree these. The one good point I can quote about SETC is their punctuality. Bus will start in time (5 to 10 mins delay). Other than this everything is negative. I suggest you guys to take train or KSRTC service, if you know your travel date in advance.
I hope TN government will take quick action on this and I wish to see our government travel service to raise their par equal to Karnataka government.
» Difficulties over Jan Lokpal bill » Posted by boopathi
This post is my perspective on Jan Lokpal bill. I am going to let loose my wild imagination over the difficulties that we (middle class people) are going to face if Jan Lokpal bill passed in the parliament. I know it is not that easy to compromise UPA to pass this bill. But Anna’s team is also equally adamant and now they got huge crowd support too. So nothing is impossible at this stage. Coming back to our topic, let me list out few points which will become tough once the Jan Lokpal comes into picture.
- We all know how many poor people are leading their life by having small shops in roadsides. They are giving bribes to local police and local gundas to run their shop. Police are going to affect equally like politicians if the Jan Lokpal bill comes into reality. Since roadside shops are illegal, the dejected police will wipe out all the roadside shops leaving the lower class people in no man’s land.
- While riding bike, you need to follow traffic rules, wear helmet, should carry license, insurance policy, RC and other papers correctly. Because you cannot give bribe to traffic police to get away from law. I still remember way back in my school days, traffic police accepted my 10rs as bribe to leave me for not having license. So prepare for this or get ready to pay the penalty at court
- Get your drinks from TASMAC in time. Again you can’t get it at late night by giving bribe to them.
- You will feel more pain when you go to government office for any work. Things will happen at snail pace even after getting bribe from us. I just can’t imagine how our work gets done by them once this bill passed successfully.
- There will be definite delay in getting drinking water connection, EB line connection, phone connection, internet connection, passport verification and more
- You can’t buy medical or engineering seats.
- You won’t get free television, mixie, grinder and more during the election period.
This may look funny but this is fact. We are all corrupted somehow and it’s in our blood. All of a sudden, we can’t eradicate this. But we should start it slowly and uproot the corruption from the scratch. Many points in Jan Lokpal bill needs to be enhanced. It is not only for politicians but for all. Government has to think in all possible scenarios before passing this bill. Later we should not protest again against the Jan Lokpal bill. Good to see many people coming to streets and raise their voice against this tainted, most corrupted government. We can see a ray of hope now. Let us believe that we can live in corruption free India in near future.
» What is Wedding Photojournalism? » Posted by boopathi
Marriage is one in a lifetime moment for most of us. It is the eternal bond that witnesses the knot between you and your cherished one. Particularly in India, marriage is the biggest event in everyone’s life. They take this event close to their heart and spend their money lavishly to treasure this event for rest of their life. Each religious group, region, and caste has a slightly different set of rites and they conduct the wedding in their own style.
Photography plays a vital role in this grand event. It is the only way to remember and cherish the cool moment that happened in this extravagant event. Because no matter how grand your event will be or how luxurious your wedding attire is, the only option you got to show your loved ones about the marriage are the photographs. So, it is very important to choose the type of photography and style of photographer. Generally there are two kinds of photography. One is usual photography where the photographer used to take posed pictures and other is lively candid shots where the subject may not even know that they are being photographed.
In most of the Indian marriages, people will go for the first option where the photographer instructs people what to pose and how to pose. They will mainly concentrate on the family portraits to satisfy the parents so that they can fill their pockets full. These kinds of photos will be ordinary and it won’t look lively. But the latter option (Wedding photojournalism) is like documenting the wedding as it is. Here the photographer wont interact with the subject and will not instruct them regarding poses. In turn, they wait for the right time and seize that moment naturally. These pictures will definitely take your memory to your wedding day whenever you see those.
I have seen in many marriages, where photographers used to torment the bride and groom to pose in different styles, adjusting their hand position and instructing them to smile with that tensed face. It literally looks like teasing them. I pity them all. So think about these and take a wise decision. I prefer wedding photojournalist for my marriage. What about you?
PS: I have started practicing wedding photojournalism. So if you want to hire me, you can drop me a message in my FB account. Happy married life!!!

» Live for yourself, not for others… » Posted by boopathi
Today morning, while surfing internet I came across this beautiful quote “making a ‘living’ is not the same thing as making a ‘life’.” This beautiful sentence makes me to realize the importance of life. This kindled my inner feeling to raise so many questions to myself.
Am I living my life?
Still I didn’t find answer for this simple question. Certainly, I am not living the life for myself but for others.
*I wish to learn western classical dance. But I am not doing it because I fear what would people (parents, society) thinks about me if I do.
*I wish to take my photography interest to next level and I am not finding time to click the shutter even during weekends. (Thanks to weekend support).
*I wish to work in latest cutting edge technology and now I end up in outdated dying platform where I don’t see any growth and career. I am trying to come out of this mess but the progress is too slow. (Nothing works in my favor). I am not taking quick decision because I fear what people will say if I didn’t get proper project/technology after coming out of the current project. More than others, I feel terrible if anything goes wrong after getting release.
The above cited points are few examples which prove that I am not living my life. At times, I feel like I am handicapped. I know life is short and we should make use of it to the fullest. I know these things and totally lost sight of it. I’ve lost so much because I wanted people to like me, to think I’m cool, worthy, worthwhile. This prevents me from achieving my wishes. It’s hard to live for ourselves and give a damn to the world. Those who live this way are highly appreciable.
Ask yourself the same question. I know many will feel the same like me. If not, you are doing great. I hope things will change sooner and I wish to live my life happily.
» Real facts about superheroes… » Posted by boopathi
Superhero is the imaginary character who always destined to protect public from the super villains and other bad stuffs. They are shouldering a huge responsibility of saving the world. Kids are worshipping them as their god and having them as their role model. Being in such an honorable and responsible place, I always wonder about their selection of costume which is contrary to their character. In this post, I want to pen down about their selection of outfit which makes me to doubt on their liability.
- Masks: Most of the superheroes are wearing mask since they don’t want to reveal their real identity while looting something or smashing someone. If they are altruistic and protecting people from bad, why can’t they do the same without wearing masks? All the superheroes are good looking and charming. I don’t see a valid reason to hide their face from people while doing service. This obviously corrupts the mindset of children and provokes them to do bad stuffs.
- Skin tight silky wear: By wearing these skin tight costumes, they almost look nude and they are spoiling the mind of kids, girls and even few men. Everyone knows that all the superheroes are well built and athletic. It is unnecessary to wear this tight outfit to show their muscles. They can even wear jeans or other normal costumes while exhibiting super powers to destroy the baddies rather than seducing everyone by flying around the crowded place.
- Underwear over pants: This one tops the other. Superheroes completely forgot the usage of underwear and they are using it over their tights. How embarrassing it is if someone gets to know your underwear color. But our superheroes are casually roaming around the city by wearing underwear (eye catching color) over their pants. The worst among others is superman. This guy wears dark shinny red chuddy over the totally contrasting blue tights. I asked my parents, friends, relatives and even strangers to find the reason behind this underwear thing. Everyone gave the same answer. NO IDEA. Let’s discuss more on this point. Why they are doing this?
- They are advertising the underwear brand since they are public figure and big shot in the country
- They are so afraid of pickpockets. So by wearing chuddy over the pants, they can cover their wallet from the eyes of thieves while travelling in bus or train
- If they caught by police, then the outer chuddy will give them extra bit of protection to their bum
provided if they wear one inside the tights.
That’s it. I couldn’t think more on their selection of costumes. If you have any, feel free to drop your idea in the comment section. See you all in next post. Happy blogging!!!

What is blog? Definitely I am not going to give the definition or description of blog. For me, it is an open diary, where I can write about myself, others and the information I want to convey. And this post is about how I started blogging as one of my hobbies. So I am going back to my college days to dig my old sweet memories.
One fine day at computer lab in second year, Mr. Ramanujam (classmate) mailed us his blog link and asked to click the Google ads which he posted in his blog. That was the first time, I heard about the word called BLOG. When I asked him about this, he briefed me that he can earn money if more people click on those ads. Cool, isn’t it? This idea beckoned me to start a blog (Blogger.com) and added Google ads in it. But I didn’t even earn 1$ through this. I completely lost interest in making money through blog and started writing regular posts. I wrote post about cricket I played at weekends, testimonials about friends, spot the circled item in photos and more. Later, I started writing critique about other college symposiums, their way of organizing events and so on.
Again, Mr. Ramanujam introduced us “Blog advertising” concept. I developed a penchant towards blogging and bought number of paid domains. This time I earned considerable amount of money through blogs. Thanks to him. Later in 2010, I bought this domain as my personal blog and publishing posts frequently in this.
Blogging became inevitable part of my life. I use this platform for sharing my happiness, venting my anger, expressing my imagination and other general stuffs. Through this post, I want to give wake up signal to my fellow bloggers who became dumb after 2009. During college days, we used to tag others to continue few posts. So I am doing the same now and I hope they will spend their time to recall their blog user id/password and update their dead blog.
Here is the list of my blog mates and I tag them to update their blogs and you tag your dumb friends too. Lets keep this chain alive.
• Senseless Syndrome (Rama)
• Get…Set…Go… (sano)
• Anatomy of thoughts (sambu)
• Hi Guyz and Galz!!! (Maravatz)
• Dog-astray!!!!! (ondi)
• Thoughts provoked (Kudi)
• Best in Buisness (Bai)
• Raja Krishnan
• Mahesh Subramanian
@ALL: Do blogging and update it frequently. After few years, if you read those old posts, it will definitely bring you joy and happy tears. See you in next post. Happy Blogging!!!
» unforgettable forgettable moments » Posted by boopathi
“Life becomes hell”. This is the most heard sentence at my work place in recent times. Everyone has their own story to complain about their life. IT people regret for choosing software line and same goes to electrical, mechanical and other core guys.
Is there anyone who lives their life fullest? I reckon the answer is BIG NO.
All want to go back to their school period where they lived happily without any tension and deadlines. Even now, they are recollecting their good old memories and treasure those moments. In this post, little differently I am going to pen down few forgettable childhood moments. But now, those memories bring me smile and freshness to my mind. Here we go.
• I was embarrassed when the guy in saloon made me to sit on a flat bench over the rolling chair to keep me at correct height for hair cut.
• While studying sixth standard, we went to Kishkintha theme park for class outing. We all paid 250Rs as excursion fee. But our school master segregated the whole gang into two by height order. Since I was short, I came in the first batch. Then they tied child band (150Rs) for me since I belonged to first batch and people in second batch got adult band (200Rs). Again I was embarrassed when I was stopped from enjoying adult ride in front of my class friends. Bloody corruption everywhere. Hail Anna Hazare.
• As an Indian, cricket is everything for me. I started playing cricket since I was 10. My team was a very big one (around 16) and usually we play within ourselves. Whenever we fixed match (pun unintended) with outside team, it was very difficult for us to decide playing eleven. After complex permutation and combination, most of the time I played as 12th man. Seriously, it hurts a lot. Heavy Arasiyal (politics).
• Rajnikanth is my hero now. But in childhood, it’s Sakthiman. I with my area friends used to gather at Ramesh’s house (our favorite rendezvous place) for viewing Sakthiman. We were heart-broken whenever DD telecasted Sakthiman in Hindi. Now I blame Mr. Karunanidhi for not letting us to learn Hindi at schools. It still hurts me in different way (all good looking babes are from north).
• Since all my relatives are in madras, I rarely went to villages with my parents in my childhood. We used to travel in buses. Each time my mom ordered me to stay low and act like kid to get half ticket. As always, conductor dragged me to measure my height, shouted to say my original age, fought heavily with my mom and finally after humiliation they awarded me half ticket. Even Achilles can’t stand in front of my mom.
• After stepped into teenage, the biggest thing we decided was going to cinema hall without parents. It was a very big proud moment for us. But I felt really bad, when my mom didn’t allow me to go to film. All my friends mocked me as kid and I cried that whole weak.
These are few unforgettable (forgettable at childhood) moments in my life. I hope many of you would have experience similar kind of situations. Try to make your life simple and live it to the fullest.
» Memorable trip to Kerala » Posted by boopathi
As per the last year’s pact (Reunion at some picnic spot once in a year), we (school friends) made a wonderful 4 days trip to Kerala last week. Without any further ado, I straight away pen down my experience in Kerala. Initially we planned this trip with seven people in mind. But finally, only 4 (myself, Vetri, punch and mark) made the trip. On 24th March evening, we all headed towards Kerala through Allepey express.
Day1:
The first day started off nicely with the intro of railway police. Before reaching Allepey station, we were caught by RPF for playing cards in the train. I thought they will give warning and leave us. It happened previously to me while travelling to Madhurai. There were three police and they initially warned us and casually started conversation about our plans for four days. They were having all our identification cards too. Suddenly, one police opened his bag and started turning charge sheets to book case against us and asked us to come to court next day to pay penalty. We argued and pleaded a lot. Finally he made a call to another police officer and asked us to pay spot fine (around 500Rs) to that officer who will wait for us near S2 coach. And surprisingly, he handed over all our ID card back to us. Then we all packed our things and slowly moved further to S10 coach and escaped hastily to the entrance. Interestingly, a police officer in pitiable condition waited for us near S2 coach.
So after fun filled thrilling escape sequence, Tini (Vetri’s Friend) embraced us and took us to the house boat. He also arranged us a car to reach other spots for rest of the days. House boat experience is new to me and enjoyed to the core. This is the must go place in Kerala and a good Honeymoon spot. Even I reserved one for mine. Boats are little expensive but definitely worth every penny. We boarded the boat around 11.30 AM. Had welcome drink, relaxed a bit, had photo session, drank toddy for first time, swam in backwaters, had delicious lunch, enjoyed the sceneries and reached the destination around 6.30 PM. After this we went to beach and then to hotel to take rest.
Day2:
Our car reached the hotel around 6.30 AM. Binu (Driver) who belongs to our age group gave us good company for all three days. I definitely recommend him (09947058865, 09809865748), if you want to hire car or mini bus to explore Kerala. Second day we headed to Munnar. On the way, we had traditionally Kozha puttu. Climate in Kerala is almost like Chennai. But Munnar welcomed us by bringing down rain. Our second day was disappointing since main spots (Rajamalai and Anaimudi) in Munnar were closed. Then we went to Top station which was full of mist and later started searching room to stay.
Day3:
After taking enough rest, we started to explore Munnar again. On the way we found one cave and briskly entered in. Due to shortage of light, we came back and moved to Kolukkumalai. If you go to Munnar, do not miss the chance to see Kolukkumalai. Only jeeps can take you there. We hired one jeep for 700Rs and started off our journey around 1 PM. After travelling 10 minutes, we saw breath taking view of mountains with green carpet on it and bumpy road ahead us. That was a thrilling journey for us. Jeep crawled on narrow, steepy, bumpy path. Even a small mistake will take you to heaven/ hell. This is definitely not a good place for piles complaint people. The whole Asteraceae and Fabaceae family will beckon you to stop the jeep and savor the natural beauty. I felt like, I was in heaven and took some eye catching snaps. On the middle of our journey, jeep’s front suspension plate got damaged and we stuck in the middle of the tea estate. After an hour of repair session, we started to climb down with faulty plates. To reduce the suspension tension, jeep’s cleaner bravely sat on the bumper and travelled all the way to basement. This is really a unforgettable spot in my life. After getting down, we headed towards Chalakudi (20Kms from Athirapally falls) and stayed there for rest.
Day 4: The final day
Our final day was best of all the days. We started to Athirapally around 9 AM from Chalakudi. The travelling from Chalakudi to Athirapally was ultimate fun. On the way, we pelted stones to knock down mangoes, scratched rubber tree to see the milk flowing, tried to get into the water canal and many more. Then we reached Athirapally around 11.30 AM. We took bath there for 2 hours and climbed down to see the breath taking front view of grand Athirapally falls. We were awestruck by its majestic look and clicked my camera shutter for a while to arrest its beauty in my memory stick. After spending considerable amount of time there, we went to vazhachal falls (2 KMs from Athirapally). This is also equally good in its unique style. The whole day we enjoyed in water and around 4.30 PM we moved from there to Chalakudi railway station to catch our Chennai train.
This is the end of our yet another lovely memorable trip. And through this post, I want to thank Mr. Baji (Vijay) and Mr. Bai (Arafath) for their contribution for house boat expenses. Though they didn’t make it to the trip, I appreciate their contribution for their beloved friends. I hope, next year we shall go for international trip with full strength. I am eagerly waiting for that moment.
